JESSE WATSON

COMMUNITY ADVOCATE

I'm Jesse, a community-driven and business-minded person. As the owner of Boxcar Coffee Shop in Calder, I’ve helped transform the neighborhood by prioritizing community needs and elevating local architecture. I’ve proudly served as a community league president and have held board roles with the Edmonton Historical Board, Heritage Council, and EFCL—championing meaningful city-building projects that reflect our shared values.

I have a Bachelor in Economics, Post-Bachelor in Urban Planning and a Graduate Certificate in Heritage Conservation.

Alongside my community work, I held two key roles with the City of Edmonton. First, I led the business team in City Operations, focusing on operational strategy and internal service delivery. Later, I moved into the City's Real Estate branch, where I worked on leasing, property management, and portfolio planning. These experiences gave me a deep, practical understanding of how city systems work—and how to make them work better for residents and local businesses.

I've been a resident of Edmonton for over 12 years. In that time, I've volunteered, led, consulted, styled, planned, and directed countless initiatives that have shaped our community for the better. I'm committed to building a stronger, business orientated and better-planned Edmonton—together.
